Starting a business using techniques from Software Development

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

This is the first in a series of posts looking at some of the analogies between software development and the entrepreneurial act of starting a business. These posts were inspired by Alex Hough’s great post yesterday about Test Driven Development (Tao in the art of the Minimal Test Case)

There are many similarities between these two activities:

  • Both involve an act of creation
  • There is an iterative process towards the end solution

Over the past 8-10 years several methodologies have been developed to improve the process of Software development (examples: Agile, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration).  These posts will look at each of these methodologies and how they can be applied for Entrepreneurs
